He is past President of RMA: Vermont Chapter, past Chair of the Vermont Bankers Association Commercial Lenders Committee, a past officer of the Green Mountain Development Corp, and past officer of the Green Mountain United Way.

Elden lives in Quechee, Vermont, with his fiancée. He is avid at crossword puzzles and spends much of his spare time reading, golfing, and walking, plus participating in or watching most sports.
