As a Vice President Commercial Loan Officer at Mascoma Bank, Arlene’s primary responsibilities are in commercial lending, specifically working with small business and municipal lending. She joined Mascoma Bank in 2009 and has experience working with a broad range of commercial and municipal customers.
Arlene began her career in banking in 1983, working as part of the lending teams at New London Trust and later, Lake Sunapee Bank. A graduate of Providence College with a BA in Modern Languages and Business, Arlene lived in Puerto Rico and Rhode Island before settling in Sunapee, where she has lived for over 35 years.
Within Mascoma Bank, Arlene has also been a valuable for mentor for many new team members, and her ability to explain and guide people through complex processes has also proven extremely valuable to our clients, as she can not only provide creative funding solutions, but can help people understand the advantages and trade-offs of different approaches.
Outside of work, Arlene has devoted time to school-related organizations for the Town of Sunapee including serving on the Board of the Sunapee PTO and Booster Club, as a member and Chairperson of the Sunapee School Board, and as Treasurer for the SAU. For many years she volunteered as a reading mentor at the White River School. She is currently the Chairperson of the Abbott Library Foundation in Sunapee.
