What better place than the romantic Mediterranean Sea for fine dining, historic icons, and sweeping vistas? Our adventure begins in Rome, where we’ll have a panoramic tour of this marvelous city and the ever-popular TRIPS Welcome-to-Italy dinner.

The next day, we’ll head to Civitavecchia, the Port of Rome, to board the Norwegian Spirit. We’ll spend the first day at sea, exploring our home-away-from-home with its wide range of amenities, activities, restaurants, and entertainment, but the next day, we’ll have the chance to explore the famous Greek island, Mykenos, also known as the “Jewel of the Aegean Sea.”

The next day brings us to Athens, where you can visit the Acropolis and view the iconic Parthenon, one of the most architecturally perfect structures ever built. The Norwegian Spirit will dock at the Greek Island of Rhodes the next day, giving us a chance to experience one of the best-preserved medieval settlements in the world.

You’ll want to be sure to be up early enough to witness our journey into Santorini at 8 the next morning! Whitewashed buildings perched atop cliffs are worth the wakeup call. To explore the island, you might choose to hop on the back of a donkey to ride a series of switch-backs to town. Others can opt for the cable car that floats you among stunning views.

And then—Crete! One of the most picturesque cities in Greece, this place combines flavors of Florence and Venice to produce something completely unique and remarkable. Be sure to stop at the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the most important archeological site on Crete.

The Maltese Islands are our next stop. Valletta, the capital of Malta, was the most heavily bombed city in Europe during World War II. This distinction earned its entire population the George Cross, Britain’s highest civilian award for bravery. The famed port of Messina is your next port of call. Don’t miss the village of Taormina perched on the cliff overlooking the Ionian Sea!

Ah, our last stop, Naples, home of pizza, eggplant parmesan, and Sofia Loren! Here, you might visit nearby Pompeii, the town buried in ash after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You also have the option of taking a day trip to the Amalfi Coast.

We’ll return to Civitavecchia overflowing with treasures of the Greek islands!
